A man convicted of striking his neighbour’s arm with a cane knife was sentenced by the High Court in Suva.
However, due to mitigating factors and the time he spent in custody, the court ordered Peni Rarawa to serve one and a half years in prison, with the remaining 18 months suspended for three years.
Rarawa was charged with one count of acting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.
