Mani Wins First Prize in National Essay Competition
These achievements highlight SVC’s dedication to promoting and preserving the Hindi language among its students.

Arti Renuka Mani, a Hindi language teacher at Swami Vivekananda College (SVC), secured first place in the National Hindi Essay Writing Competition 2024.
The event, organised by the Fiji Hindu Society in collaboration with the High Commission of India, celebrated Hindi Diwas and aimed to promote the appreciation of Hindi language and culture.
The competition featured participants from across Fiji competing in three categories: Primary School, Secondary School, and Open Category (18 years and above).

Ms Mani, a passionate advocate for the Hindi language, expressed pride in her achievement, stating, “Hindi is our identity, and we should never forget our mother language as it is crucial.”
She was awarded $200 in cash, Hindi cultural books, and a USB drive.
Additionally, Shriya Mala, a Year 12 student from SVC, placed third in the secondary school category, winning a $100 prize.
These achievements highlight SVC’s dedication to promoting and preserving the Hindi language among its students.
SVC vice principal, Geeta Krishna, praised the winners, noting that the school community takes pride in their accomplishments and continues to encourage the use and promotion of Hindi across generations.
