Mead Road Barracks May Be Demolished

The Public Rental Board (PRB) is considering demol­ishing the barracks at Mead Road, Nabua. This is because of the aged structures.

Two weeks ago, two families were relocated to other flats because of defects in their flats.

General manager Timoci Naleba said it prompted PRB to engage an engineer who is currently assess­ing the strength of the Nabua flats.

He expects to receive the engi­neers report by next week before notifying the board. A total of 150 families are expected to be affected by the move should PRB decide to demolish the flats.
