Men need to be educated on the importance of menstruation our women experience, says former tourism worker and Fit Chef creator, Zunaid Khan.

Mr Khan’s comments come after he donated a box of sanitary pads to the Being Helping Hands Fiji Nadi co-ordinator, Vimo Keshwal earlier this week.

He has over the past few months assisted needy families in the Western Division who suffered the consequences of the global COVID-19 pandemic with grocery packs.

This was his first donation of sanitary pads for women who needed the necessity.

“Many young women and girls are suffering due to poverty, and the ongoing Coronavirus makes their lives even harder when it comes to the time of their menstruation period,” he said.

“They cannot afford sanitary pads and other items, and this has at some time allowed them to stay away from school or even drop out completely.

“As a responsible Fijian I am not going to let this happen and thus I have started this cause to help as many females as I can.”

He said men must join hands and help women move forward.
