Mercy Commission To Assess CRW Applications
The Prerogative of the Mercy Commission will equally assess applications for pardon submitted to it by paramount chiefs and imprisoned members of the disbanded Counter Revolutionary Warfare (CRW) Unit.

The Prerogative of the Mercy Commission will equally assess applications for pardon submitted to it by paramount chiefs and imprisoned members of the disbanded Counter Revolutionary Warfare (CRW) Unit.
In the lead up to preparations for the first meeting of the reinstated Great Council of Chiefs in May, Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga was questioned whether the Commission would consider Naitasiri chief, the Qaranivalu Ratu Inoke Takiveikata’s application.
Ratu Inoke remains the Qaranivalu since 1997.

He was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2011 for inciting mutiny in 2000 at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks.
