Met Service Predicts Rainy Christmas

Keep an umbrella close at hand if you’re living in the Northern and Eastern parts of the country.

The Fiji Meteorological Service predicted that it will rain today and throughout the weekend.

“A weak trough of low pressure lies over the group,” a statement from the Nadi weather station said.

Forecast to midnight today for the Fiji group – some showers and isolated thunderstorms about Vanua Levu and the northern parts and interior of the other larger islands.

“Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. Moderate northerly winds. Winds becoming east to the northeast later today. Moderate seas,” the statement added.
