Meth and Marijuana Found on Navua Men During Snap Checks

Two 35-year-old men have been separately apprehended by Police in Navua after dried marijuana leaves and methamphetamine were found on them.
Arrests
The arrests were made during the police snap checks in all the five divisions this month.

Several sachets containing methamphetamine and marijuana were found during the first snap conducted by the Southern Division Crime and Intelligence Unit (SD SOCIU).
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said the SD SOCIU, K9 and Fiji Detector Dog Unit had conducted a raid last Wednesday in Raiwai, outside Suva City.
They confiscated white substances believed to be methamphetamine, several items believed to be stolen property and foreign and local currencies.
The two men and a woman who were allegedly found in possession of these items were arrested; the seized items were sent for analysis.
Other checks
Snap checks were also conducted at a Bagasau roadblock site in Savusavu where officers from the Tukavesi Police Station stopped and searched the luggage compartment of a bus and found a black bag containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
In the Western Division, two passengers of a vehicle were arrested on Monday night.
Police, during the snap check, seized several branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana from them at Sabeto Road, Nadi.
ACP Driu said the snap checks were yielding results; the joint raids would continue throughout the five police divisions.
