Methodist Church Blesses New General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary
Reverend Turagavou succeeds the late Reverend Iliesa Naivalu who died in December last year.

President of the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma Reverend Ili Vunisuwai gave the advice to the newly appointed General Secretary, Reverend Dr Semisi Turagavou, and his Deputy, Reverend Dr Anil Reuben, yesterday.
While officiating at their official blessing, Reverend Vunisuwai urged them to pray about it and familiarise themselves with the call that God had intended for them within the church.

He said the church was not the place to seek fame and popularity, but rather they would have to serve and pave the way for those to lead after them and guide Fiji forward to the 22nd century.
Reverend Vunisuwai said he had a vision and a dream for the Methodist Church to be a prosperous and liberated church.
Reverend Turagavou and Reverend Reuben were appointed on January 27, 2022, through a secret ballot by the church’s Standing Committee. More than 200 applications were received for the positions.
Reverend Vunisuwai said they had faith that the new appointees would perform well in their new positions.
Reverend Turagavou succeeds the late Reverend Iliesa Naivalu who died in December last year.
