Starting in 2018, Mr Gus faced academic, financial and personal challenges, coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic.

But through it all, Mr Gus found support at the USP Disability Resource Centre, a place he credits for helping him navigate his journey with strength and dignity.

“When fees became a barrier, and pressure from family grew, I still held on,” Mr Gus said.

“The USP Disability Resource Centre helped me stand back up.”

Despite the odds, Mr Gus didn’t just survive, he excelled.

To those walking a difficult path, Mr Gus offers this message: “No matter how long it takes, you have to finish what you started. It’s your journey, no one else. Stay at the crease, persevere.”
