Minister Awaits Nightclub Inquiry Report

Agni Deo Singh is waiting to receive the full investigation report about com-plaints lodged by employees of Fusion Bar in Labasa.
The Minister of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations was notified by the Fusion Bar manager, Joshua Gaunavou, on Wednesday.
He was among the eight staff not receiving pay on time, Fiji National Provident Fund deduction and pay slips.

Mr Gaunavou directed the ministry’s office in Labasa to conduct an investigation.
We take employees concerns seriously and that is why investigation has begun, Mr Singh said.
Appropriate action will be taken.
Mr Gaunavou said he was no longer working at the bar along with the other complainants.

“I have been an employee at the bar for three months and after these ongoing issues, we decided to lodge a report at the labour office,” Mr Gaunavou said.
“We want our wages otherwise we will close down the club.”
Fusion Club owner Rinesh Prasad said the club was open and in operation.
