The Minister for Education publicly apologised to head teachers for any shortcomings by the ministry in meeting their needs and expectations.

Addressing the Fiji Head Teachers Association's conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Denarau, Nadi, yesterday, Aseri Radrodro said the ministry recognised that requests and concerns from schools have not always been resolved in a timely manner.

He took the opportunity to extend an apology on behalf of the ministry, assuring school leaders that their efforts and challenges have not gone unnoticed.

"I wish to sincerely apologise if we have, in any way, failed to fully satisfy your expectations from the respective schools you lead and serve," Mr Radrodro said.

"Your requests may not always have been addressed on time, but today we gather to reaffirm our support for you as leaders and innovators in education," he said.

He said Government was committed to addressing these gaps by strengthening teacher training, upgrading facilities, improving access to digital learning, and ensuring fair career progression for teachers.

He reminded the conference that teachers played a central role in shaping communities and building national progress.

"You hold the power to transform schools and communities. Every decision you make as school leaders contributes to shaping the future of our nation," he said.

The minister reassured educators that their leadership and dedication remain vital and pledged the government's continued support in ensuring no child is left behind.
