Minister Visits Flood-Prone Areas, Plans To Reinstate Drainage Board

We cannot solve all of the flooding problems in this country said Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Va­timi Rayalu.

During his one-week tour of the North, Mr Rayalu visited flood-prone areas in Soasoa, Tabucola, Tiri, Korowiri, and Korovatu in Labasa.

“These flooding problems have been inherited from the neglect of the previous government and also wrong policy decisions,” he said.

Mr Rayalu assured residents that the drainage board would be rein­stated.
