Minister’s daughter back in surgery

Defence Minister Pio Tikoduadua confirmed yesterday that his daughter, a police officer, has returned to the operating theatre at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

She was critically injured during a joint military-police drug operation checkpoint chase in Laqere last Sunday.

“She went back to operation. She’s in theatre right now. She’s critical, but stable,” Mr Tikoduadua said.

The officer was struck when a fleeing vehicle allegedly rammed her during a high-speed pursuit.

Three suspects were arrested and methamphetamine was seized.
