The permanent secretary for Health and Medical Services, Dr Jemesa Tudravu, has passed away after serving over three decades to Fiji’s health sector

Acting permanent secretary Dr Luisa Cikamatana said the late Dr Tudravu served with humility, integrity, commitment, and compassion.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him," Dr Cikamatana said.

"We honour his life, his outstanding service, and the legacy he leaves behind."

The late Dr Tudravu dedicated over three decades of service to Fiji’s health sector, serving as an Orthopaedic Surgeon after completing specialist training at Newcastle Hospital in Australia.

He also served as the Medical Superintendent at Lautoka Hospital and the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

Later, he became the chief medical advisor; and acting permanent secretary for Health and Medical Services, before assuming the role of permanent secretary in February 2024.
