Northern division based Ministry of Health and Medical Services team is committed to reducing cases of Leptospirosis, Typhoid and Dengue (LTD).
Divisional Health Inspector Northern, Vakaruru Cavuilati, said their enforcement team would be carrying out house to house visitations.
Apart from reducing LTD chances they will be placing emphasis on removing water holding receptacles.

“If we have tyres, tins or other holding items carrying water, discard them to eliminate mosquitoes causing dengue breeding places,” Mr Cavuilati said.
Mr Cavuilati said hotspot areas within the Macuata medical subdivision will be visited and residents screened.
Last year notices were served to residents to improve how they dispose their garbage including water containers.
Areas that were served with notices included Vunivau, Bulileka, Siberia and Wailevu.
The ministry initiated the Iron Claw operation to deal with LTD cases last year.
“We urge residents to ensure no water holding vessels are lying in their compounds,” he said.
Meanwhile Mr Cavuilati is advising all Fijians to mitigate all possible chances of an LTD outbreak in their communities, especially during this cyclone period (November to April).
“We are trying to get the message across to the communities to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds,” he said.
“We are trying to reduce the burden this year with increased efforts to control any LTD outbreak.”
