Ministry Told To Probe $38k Issue

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has directed the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources to investigate the $38,402.88 earmarked for the gravel extraction royalty that was supposed to be given to a mataqali in Dawasamu.

This was after the Mata-ni-Tikina (district representative) of Dawasamu Village, Sanaila Rokotuivuna raised a question about it during the talanoa session at the Tailevu Provincial Meeting yesterday.

Mr Rokotuivuna claimed that they were informed by an officer from the Minister of Lands and Mineral Resources that the gravel extraction royalty had been deposited to a mataqali account in Sawakasa Village, Tailevu.
