Ministry welcomes new teachers for 2025

The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, inducted the second batch of new teachers during their welcome ceremony on Friday.
He encouraged them to embrace their roles as mentors and facilitators.
The event coincided with the International Day of Education, highlighting the vital role of education in fostering peace and development.

Reflecting on the 2025 theme, 'AI and Education - Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation,' Mr Radrodro urged teachers to inspire creativity and a love for learning in their students.
He emphasised the importance of improving student literacy and numeracy through collaboration among teachers, parents, and students.
He also reminded the teachers to uphold professionalism, avoid distractions such as mobile phone use during lessons, and familiarise themselves with the 2023 Denarau Declaration-Fiji National Education Policy Framework 2024-2034.
The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates and appointment letters.
Teachers also took their oath of service before Mr Radrodro, pledging their commitment to their responsibilities as educators.
The new teachers will report to their respective schools today, as the 2025 academic year begins.
