Nukuloa College Year 12 student Mole Kabu was overcome with emotion when she was crowned Fiji Gas Miss Ba Farmers Carnival 2025 Queen last Saturday night.

Originally from Nadrau, Nadarivatu in Ba, with maternal ties to Nubumakita, Nalawa in Ra, Mole is the fourth of six siblings.

Mole thanked God and her family for supporting her journey.

"Always put God first, and with faith, anything is possible," Mole said.

"This crown is for my parents, who gave me what I need to stand on my own feet, be bold, and show respect at the same time."

Her message of inclusion and compassion has resonated with many during the carnival.

Beyond her advocacy, Mole has set her sights on becoming a biosecurity officer, inspired by her interest in agriculture and science.

Her parents, Ratu Peceli Matavutuka and Emilewa Toga, were visibly proud, thanking their daughter for bringing home such a prestigious accolade.

Fiji Gas national sales and marketing manager Sonal Reddy said the carnival celebrated community, culture, and a shared commitment to a brighter future.

"The theme, 'Empowering Youths in Agricultural Activities,' is more important than ever in a world facing climate change, food insecurity, and economic shifts," Mr Reddy said.

"The future of agriculture lies not just in innovation, but in the hands of our youths."
