Ratu Manoa Tuiwainikai has supported the decision by the Itaukei Affairs Minister, Ifereimi Vasu to review the policy for the equal distribution of lease money.

Ratu Manoa is the Turaga ni Mataqali (head of clan) of Wainikai, Yavusa (tribe) Qoibau in Labasa.

He said his views for review would be different from most landowners across Fiji.

He said the review would ensure clans in villages had funds to develop their communities.

“A good number of mataqali (landowning unit) members who are staying outside their vanua are showing laxity to vanua or village functions and developments with less contribution made by them,” he said.
