More rain expected this week

More rain is expected for the Fiji Group this week, says the

National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi.

In its weather bulletin last evening, the weatherman forecasts localised rain during the week brought about by a southeasterly wind flow over the Fiji Group.

The weather office said a trough of low pressure was expected to develop to the north of Fiji today.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group

• Cloudy periods with brief showers over Serua-Namosi, Navua--Suva-Nausori, Naitasiri-Tailevu North, Ra-Rakiraki, Cakaudrove and southern Bua Province, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
• Elsewhere, conditions will be fine apart from afternoon or evening showers. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms with heavy falls are expected over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
• Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Moderate southeasterly winds are expected with moderate seas.

Outlook for tomorrow:

Cloudy periods with some showers over Serua-Namosi, Navua--Suva-Nausori, Naitasiri-Tailevu North, Ra-Rakiraki, Cakaudrove and southern Bua Province, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Elsewhere, it will be fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Localised heavy falls may again lead to flash flooding in low-lying and floodprone areas. Moderate south to southeasterly winds with moderate seas are expected.

For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Cloudy periods with brief showers. Afternoon thunderstorms with possible localised heavy falls.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms.

For Nadi/lautoka/Ba/Tavua/Rakiraki/ Yasawa/Mamanuca and Labasa: Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with heavy falls.
