More Streetlights To Be Installed And Repaired
Installation of streetlights in parts of Queen Elizabeth drive, Gladstone Road, Cakobau Road and Edinburgh drive will be completed mid this year

Fiji Roads Authority is in the process of installing 3736 streetlights along Kings Road, Queens Road, Wainibokasi, Labasa-Savusavu and Suva.
This is the biggest project they’ve had undertaken.
Installation of streetlights in parts of Queen Elizabeth drive, Gladstone Road, Cakobau Road and Edinburgh drive will be completed mid this year.

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), General Manager Electrical, Musheer Khan said: “All new streetlights are LED’s. Tender for installation of solar streetlights at various sites on Viti Levu and Vanua Levu has also been put out to the market.”
He said that in the next two months more streetlight works will be tendered for Suva, Labasa, Savusavu, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Ba, Tavua.
He added that apart from this the FRA is also looking at the replacement of 3000 streetlights in the residential areas over a period of 12 months through its streetlight maintenance contractors in Suva, Nasinu, Nausori, Lami, Deuba, Nadi, Sigatoka, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki and Labasa-Savusavu.
“Meanwhile, 976 streetlights in the Central & Western division were renewed. 25 solar streetlights were installed in Nailaga and around 1754 streetlights were installed along the Queens Road and Kings Road, Wainibokasi and Navua.”
