A total of 415 dogs and cats were desexed for free last week in the Lautoka and Nadi area.
The Greater Good Foundation spokesperson, Mohammed Khan said in just four days a total of 300 pets turned up to the desexing clinic.
Mr Khan said this showed the urgency from the pet owners to have their pets desexed.

The free desexing service was offered by visiting vets from the United States of America who worked in conjunction with Nadi’s Pacific Animal Shelter and Hospital (PASH) clinic and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Greater Good Foundation shelter is Fiji’s only street dog shelter and home to over 200 homeless dogs.
Mr Khan said the shelter was calling on Government to make desexing of pets available for free. He claimed this was because Fiji was exploding with a street dog crisis which called for urgent action.
He said one dog produces about 16 puppies a year.
“And then those puppies grow up and they breed, over six generations, that results in a staggering 67,000 unwanted puppies who get turned out on the street,” he said.
