More Time Granted For Lawyer Richard Naidu
He was found guilty of contempt, scandalising the court last year. Mr Apted informed the Court that they had an interlocutory appeal pending, however they were not appealing his conviction.

The High Court in Suva yesterday granted more time to lawyer Richard Naidu to make representation to the Attorney-General.
Appearing in Court, his lawyer Jon Apted informed Judge Justice Daniel Goundar that after consulting King’s Counsel they needed more time to meet with the AG and decide on their joint position. In an earlier sitting, the AG’s Office was given time to finalise its stand in the committal proceedings against Mr Naidu.
He was found guilty of contempt, scandalising the court last year. Mr Apted informed the Court that they had an interlocutory appeal pending, however they were not appealing his conviction. The case has been adjourned to 11am on May 5, 2023.
