The High Court in Lautoka granted State lawyer Taitusi Tuenuku time until May 8 to file and serve clearer copies of the case disclosures.

This is the case of Mohammed Naushad and his wife Nazreen Nisha Khan who are each charged with one count of murder while Naushad faces an additional charge of one count of criminal intimidation.

The couple allegedly forced an 18-year-old student to ingest a chemical in Maro, Sigatoka on June 30, 2022.

The matter was heard before Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza on Monday and the couple was represented by Lautoka lawyer, Iqbal Khan.

The court heard there were certain statements requested by the defense lawyer which were yet to be submitted by the State.

Mr Tuenuku told the court that the crime officer confirmed there were documents with clearer copies of the disclosures that the State could submit, however he requested two weeks to provide the same.

Mr Khan sought 14 days to file the voir dire grounds.

Justice Hamza adjourned the matter to May 22 and further remanded Naushad and Khan.
