It was a milestone achievement for a mother and her daughter who celebrated their graduation from the University of the South Pacific in Suva on Friday.
Together they shared a journey of perseverance, inspiration and family pride.
A psychology postgraduate who hails from Qalikarua, Matuku in Lau, Litiana Kanaeabogi said graduating alongside her mum made the day even more meaningful.

“She has been my mentor and she encourages me and motivates me to achieve great things,” she said.
“To achieve this together is something I will treasure forever.”
Her mother, Ivamere Kanaenabogi, a teacher shared that her own academic journey was inspired by her mentors and colleagues who pushed her to achieve higher education, with hopes of one day completing a PhD.
“I know that this achievement will motivate and boost my two younger children to work hard,” Ms Kanaenabogi said.
The pair’s story drew admiration from fellow graduates and families.
The proud mother and her daughter highlighted that nothing was impossible and that hard work paid off in the end.
