Mother of Six Dies in Nina Street Accident

A family in Tamavua is grieving the loss of a woman in her 60s who died in a tragic accident in Suva yesterday.
Witnesses said the woman, Mere Salu, was glancing through items sold at a stall along Nina Street when she was struck by a vehicle.
The vehicle, executed a clumsy reverse maneuver, ending up on the footpath hitting the 63-year-old victim.

The late Ms Salu was a mother of six and grandmother of two.
She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The harrowing scene was recounted by stall owners Susana Fulaga and husband Anthony Balagi Lala. Both described it as gruesome and horrifying.
Still in shock, Ms Fulaga said it was not normal to witness the loss of a human life in such a cruel manner.
