Mother Wins 6 Awards In Midwifery

Alumita Soroiwaqa was the only student from the Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery course to scoop the highest number of awards during the Sangam Institute of Technology College of Nursing and Health Care Education at the Civic Centre in Labasa yesterday.

She received six awards in Academic Excellence in MIDW801: Professional Skills for Midwifery, Preconception and Antenatal Care, Academic Excellence in MIDW802: Normal Labour and Birth, Academic Excellence in MIDW803: Normal Puerperium and Newborn, Academic Excellence in MIDW804: The Compromised Neonate, Academic Excellence in MIDW806: Contexts of Midwifery Practice and Overall Academic Excellence in Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery Program.

The 38-year-old staff nurse of Colonial War Memorial Hospital thanked her in-laws, three sisters-in-law and husband, a manager for Fiji Mahogany Trust, for looking after her three children.
