Kelera Drakece, who is from Wainunu in Bua, Vanua Levu, was one of many women in the country who gave birth to healthy babies yesterday.
Ms Drakece’s new-born baby girl weighed 3.2 kilograms at birth at the Makoi Maternity Unit in Makoi, Nasinu.
The baby was born at 8.35am and is the second child in Ms Drakece’s family.

Her eldest is a two-year-old boy. Ms Drakece’s husband was in Bua, Vanua Levu, and was made aware of the birth of his daughter.
The unit in Makoi, since its full operation in September 2018, has recorded, as of yesterday, a total of 486 births.
Christmas came on time for two women at the Lautoka Hospital yesterday.
