All seven devices belonging to Former journalist and sports marketing expert Charlie Charters, seized by the Fiji Police Force on August 7, have been returned.

Charters’ lawyer, Seforan Fatiaki, confirmed this morning that Police had returned the devices following orders issued by the High Court.

Mr Fatiaki also confirmed that a physical copy of the High Court ruling on their application had been made available.

The court ordered the return of all seven devices, comprising:

  • Two Samsung Galaxy phones;
  • One Apple iPad;
  • Two Lenovo laptops; and
  • Two SIM cards.

The return of the devices concludes the matter relating to their seizure. However, the wider legal matter remains subject to a possible appeal.

Under the High Court’s initial permanent stay judgment, the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has until Sunday, August 23, to appeal the judgment.
