Roylene Sharma is urging parents to break the close attachment with their children and send them to school, especially Kindergarten students.

The 35-year-old mother-of-three yesterday accompanied her five-year-old daughter, Raniya Sharma, for her first day at the Saint Thomas Kindergarten School in Lautoka.

“I’m excited because she wanted to go to school with her older sisters,” she said.

“I was worried that my daughter would not be able to cope, but she was excited to be surrounded by other students her age.

“We will see how she goes today. When she came in the morning she just went straight to the toys and adjusted well.”

“My two elder daughters who are now at Saint Thomas Primary School also attended Saint Thomas Kindergarten,” Ms Sharma said.
