Nabila Village Receives Truck to Transport Children to School

School attendance for children living in Nabila Village in Nadroga-Navosa is expected to improve soon.
On Wednesday, the Minister for iTaukei Affairs Ifereimi Vasu handed-over a truck to the elders of the village.
Village spokesperson Jeremaia Driu said the truck would transport children to Nawai Secondary School and Korovuto College.

“Our current transport provider cannot cater for the continuous increase in the number of our children attending school,” he said.
“The lack of transport resulted in poor attendance. So, now there will be no excuse for us parents not to send our children to school or for children to miss school.”

Mr Driu thanked Government for assisting them.
“This assistance will help fight poverty in our villages, tikina (district), tokatoka (sub clan) ko Bitoiwai and mataqali (clan) Leweivalagi.
“We are thankful to Government for assisting us in the education of our children. This truck is important to us.”
Mr Vasu reminded the villagers the importance of the assistance and encouraged parents to prioritse the education of their children.
“Make good use of this vehicle daily to transport your children to school,” Mr Vasu added.
