A family in Nadawa is now living with relatives in the area after their home was destroyed in a fire on Thursday night.

A devastated owner, Low Young, 64, is pleading with the public to help them with anything to get them back on their feet.

At the time of the incident, Mr Young was with his wife and son at home on Thursday when he noticed smoke coming from his sons’ room.

“Initially, I smelt something was burning. I tried to run in to check, but the house was already in flames. It was already too late,” Mr Young said.

“All I could do was tell my wife and son to move out because our lives were more important. All I managed to save was one of our vehicles and the clothes we are wearing.”

One of the neighbour’s houses was partially burnt.
