Prince Charles Park is ready to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month.

Nadi Town Council special administrator, chairperson Saliceni Raiwalui, confirmed that final touches on the park are underway.

Mr Raiwalui said that this concert would set a new trend for events in Nadi

“This show will bring a different taste, the sound of the Pacific carrying the spirit of Fiji,” he said.

“This is going to be big for Nadi. We are privileged that it has been hosted here. They will pay for everything at the Prince Charles Park, but we will only take care of the parking space. We are planning to use the Koroivolu Park for space.”

He said the council would always work with musicians for future events.

“We are ready to work with them if there is a plan for the show to be an annual event,” Mr Raiwalui said.

The concert signifies Mr Veikoso’s return home after 40 years of sharing Pacific music with the world. He has publicly announced that this homecoming is more than just a concert.

“It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us all. For four decades, I have had the privilege of carrying the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific to audiences across the globe,” Mr Veikoso said.

“Now, it is time to bring that journey to full circle, back to where it all began. I am honoured to return home and share with you the music that has been my life’s work, alongside some extraordinary artists who I proudly call family: J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi,” he said.

He said they would celebrate not just his return, but the power of music to unite, inspire, and uplift communities.

“This event is a tribute to our shared heritage, and I can’t wait to experience this unforgettable night with all of you,” he added.

A Tourism Fiji spokesperson said, “We’re thrilled about George Fiji Veikoso’s Home Coming Concert. This event celebrates his incredible talent while also shining a spotlight on Fiji’s vibrant musical scene.”

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to boost our local economy, grow a sense of community, and showcase Fiji’s unique offerings to international visitors. Events like this help highlight our rich culture and warm hospitality.”

Tickets ranges from $79, $99, $350, and $999VIP.

Local artist and aviator Big Wilz said, “Yeah, I’ll pay that much to watch Pojie, Josh, and Maoli. I’m thankful that these brothers are bringing their big kahunas to our shores without big business sponsors but by the sweat of their brow.

“I will pay because I will support Pojie and would like to give him credit for being our flag bearer in the world of music. It’s going to be epic. Be there if you can just don’t feel bad if you can’t. See you in Nadi.”

The concert is on September 14 -15.
