Nadroga-Navosa Merge To Form One Constituency

In its search for unity, the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) have merged the constituencies of Nadroga and Navosa.

Constituency president Ratu Marika Bulikula said this was discussed and agreed to at the constituency annual general meeting held at Sila Village in Nadroga a fortnight ago.

“Nadroga/Navosa is one constituency with two seats allocated to represent them to the party’s management board,” Ratu Marika said.

Under the previous party administration Nadroga and Navosa were two separate constituencies.

“This merger is to bring unity within the province,” he said.

Ratu Marika said nominations sent to the party headquarters include party leader Viliame Gavoka for Nadroga and Sitiveni Naciriyawa, a nominee from Navosa to stand in this year’s general election.

s likely to be held in the province of Nadroga-Navosa.

“Yes, we are ready if directed to host the annual general meeting,” he said.

The party’s management board would meet in Suva this week, to release the names of candidates, party manifesto including the date and venue for the AGM.

After the Nadroga-Navosa constituency AGM, the following officers were appointed:

  • President - Ratu Marika Bulikula.
  • Vice president - Sitiveni Naciriyawa
  • Treasurer - Sisilia Vunivalu remained unopposed,
  • Secretary - Siteri Nasilasila.
