Naivalurua to Discuss Police Budget with Finance Minister

Minister for Policing Iowane Naivalurua will meet the Minister for Finance Biman Prasad to discuss the Fiji Police Force budgetary allocation.
During his recent visit to Labasa, Mr Naivalurua confirmed that the Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu had consultations with the Ministry of Finance team.
"I am now left to have a final consultation with Mr Prasad to discuss issues raised previously and some proving new ones also," Mr Naivalurua said.

"Ourlist of requests is from improving reform and restructure of the force."
He said some parts of the organisation were not funded fully and they need to acquire to make sure that the force was able to fight the challenges of the 21st century.
"We cannot do that with the resources and sitauation we have, so we are really asking Government to equip and support the force," Mr Naivalurua said.
"The force is now on a well equipped, resourced and organised police force to look after Fiji better."
These are areas the Commissioner of Police is trying to address.
