At the beginning of last year Shreya Nand set her goal to top the Year 13 students of Korovuto College.
The 18-year-old achieved this when she scored the highest marks in her school for the 2023 Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination.
She scored an impressive 380 marks out of 400.

She said the period between setting her goals and accomplishing them was a challenge.
“Throughout the year I faced a lot of obstacles, which I thought I couldn’t overcome.
“The bus problem in my area at Malamala sometimes discouraged us, the students in the area from being late or missing school.”

Sometimes I get stressed out trying to manage all those things.”
Shreya said her parents, who both worked at a resort on Denarau, were an inspiration in her bid to reach her goals.
“They helped me in my academic journey and were proud of my achievement,” she said.
“I also thank my supportive teachers, who knew the potential I had to excel academically.”
