Sushia Bai celebrated her 80th birthday with church members of Waidamudamu Gospel Brethren Assembly, Koronivia, on Christmas day.

Nani, as she is commonly known, is from Draunitogo, Sigatoka.

Her husband died in February and their three children live abroad.

Nani hopes for a long life saying she would like to reach 100 years like her late uncle, Bechu Prasad, who died at the age of 105.

Children

Her daughters who live abroad joined her virtually during the celebration sending their well wishes and thanked the church members for their love and support towards their mother.

Karuna Singh, who resides in Australia and Rekha Singh, who lives in the United States of America, were emotional seeing everyone celebrating their mother’s birthday.

Pastor

Pastor Manoa Kalouniviti said Nani had been a member of their church for the past 20 years.

“Nani has been an active member of our church,” Mr Kalouniviti said.

“Her availability to church activities has been a blessing to us and we are glad to come together to celebrate Nani’s 80th birthday on the same day we remember the birth of our Saviour,” he said.
