Unity Fiji Party believes the 2013 Constitution could be successfully challenged in court.
The party was exploring this option and intended to comply with all the necessary legal and administrative processes.
Party leader Savenaca Narube believed that the first sentence of the 2013 Constitution that states,“We the people of Fiji...” is false because

Fijians did not participate in its preparation.
“This is a fundamental mistake that must be corrected.
The Constitution is for the people and therefore the people should have a say in its preparation.
“The people should approve the Constitution through Parliament.
The 2013 Constitution has not been passed by any Parliament.
It was decreed by the 2006 coup makers.
“We can confidentially conclude that the 2013 imposed Constitution is not the Constitution of the people of Fiji.

It was imposed on the people through the barrel of a gun.
“They made it extremely difficult to change the Constitution.
They inserted a wide role for the military and an immunity clause to protect the coup makers” he said.
“They entrenched the electoral system and other important issues in the Constitution so they cannot be changed,“We must not allow the
imposed Constitution to limit our progress to peace, prosperity, and unity in our beloved country.”
He highlighted that the party plans to consult closely with the military.
“We will design a transition plan to a new Constitution.
We must not allow this imposed Constitution to destroy the hopes of our future.
Details of our national campaign will be released in due course.
We ask for national support in this call for action.
