The Ratu Kadavulevu Eels are going to battle Nasinu Secondary School Panthers in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Under-19 grand final in Suva, next Saturday.

The Eels walloped the highly fancied Ba Provincial Freebird Institute Dragons 25-8 in the second semifinal clash at Churchill Park, Lautoka, yesterday.

Eels U19 coach Jone Vosataki was not carried away with the win indicating that they would go back to the drawing board before the final.

“There are lots of things we need to improve on before meeting Nasinu,” he said.

“We’ll go back to the drawing board and perhaps on Monday we’ll try to see some areas we can improve on so that we can be prepared by Saturday.

“We came into the semifinal as the underdogs because we were placed second from the South Eastern Zone while Ba Pro was the number one seed from the Western Zone.”

Vosataki said the message to the players was to convert all their opportunities into points.

“We were attacking with the ball and most times we were in their red zone but could not convert it into points. The message at halftime was simple, we had to take our chances,” he added.
