Mr Patel said three more lights have been given by residents of Gulam Nabi Street. They wanted them to be installed in the street.
He said the area is infamous for shenanigans brought about by the consumption of alcohol on the roadside.
Mr Patel is hoping that businesses continue to switch on their outside lights after working hours.
“They should not switch them off because it will defeat the purpose of what we are trying to do,” he said.
“Solar lights are cheap and easy to install. Businesses who hope to save money on power bills can switch to solar lights.”
Mr Patel said the Town Council and its stakeholders wanted to increase visibility in the town area which would also aid the Police with their operations.
