Navua-based charitable organisation, Worthy Works Fiji is committed to bringing smiles to those affected by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Worthy Works Fiji co-ordinator, Kamal Narayan said, the idea of forming the non profitable organisation last year was to assist the underprivileged children and needy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We assisted 50 school students last year from Nakaulevu to Lomary in Serua”, Mr Narayan said.

The idea of formulating a group was brought about by teachers, church leaders, community leaders and youth to assist students with stationery, school bags and uniforms.
“We have assisted more than 150 families with food ration packs since last year and we have seen a drastic increase in number of families needing food ration,” he said.
Mr Narayan said Government was doing its best to assist the needy, but people must understand that Government also has its commitments.
“We need to understand our role in fighting this pandemic and helping others at the same time,” he added.
Funding is raised from former Navua residents living overseas, savings from members and corporate partners like FMF Foods Limited.
Mr Narayan has requested Fijians to form helping hand groups and to do the same.
