Nehru Primary Dux Aspires to be a Doctor

The 13-year-old, who has topped his class since Year One, will carry the same determination, passion and drive when he enters Jai Narayan College for Year Nine in 2024.

Nehru Primary School dux Vrishab Kumar wants to study medicine in his earnest bid to help less fortunate people in our communities.

The Year Eight student talked about his vision after the school’s prizegiving ceremony on Wednesday.

“I want to become a doctor or a pharmacist and help people,” he said.

The 13-year-old, who has topped his class since Year One, will carry the same determination, passion and drive when he enters Jai Narayan College for Year Nine in 2024.

“I have studied hard and quietly confident about accomplishing my mission,” he said.

“My parents and teachers always motivate and push me towards my goals in studies.”

Proud father, Vikash Kumar, a businessman said his son always put in the extra effort.

As parents, they are always prepared to support their son with whatever he needed.

Awards

Apart from the dux award, Vrishab also scooped the Year Eight level topper, Fiji Mathematics Competition highest scorer, leadership board award, and primary graduation awards.

Subjects awards: Basic Science, Healthy Living, Mathematics, Vernacular, Social Science and English.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro commended the students and highlighted the school’s multicultural history.

He praised the school for offering notable academic subjects and awards for extracurricular programmes, promoting a holistic education environment.

“I urged Year Eight students to focus on their studies and inspired them to dream big and have faith in their future,” Mr Radrodro said.

He also praised parents, guardians, teachers and well-wishers for their critical role in a child’s development.
