Around 800 families in the Western Division will be assisted with emergency relief items collected by the Fiji SME (Small and medium-sized enterprises) Business Owners Network.

The public drive was handled in collaboration with FRIEND Fiji on Monday at the McDonalds Fiji outlets in Nadi and Lautoka to assist families from Nadi, Ba and Tavua areas.

Co-ordinator Kim Beddoes said the Western Division continued to be affected a lot in the last two years with the pandemic, and natural disasters such as Tropical Cyclone Cody which caused flooding.

“Thank you to everyone that turned up to donate much needed clothes, blankets and home supplies, we managed to fill our delivery truck full,” she said.

“All donations have been sorted, re-packed, labeled and delivered to the team at FRIENDS.”

Ms Beddoes also thanked McDonalds Fiji managing director Marc McElrath for providing them with the venue for collection, packing boxes.

The Fiji SME Business Owners Network was formed by 529 SME Business Owners from across Fiji, the largest organised collection of SMEs in the country.
