New Block to Lift Status of Bau Central College
Education Minister Premila Kumar urges school board to set up maintenance plan.

Bau Central College now have better facilities to cater for more students living within or near the district of Bau, in Tailevu South.
With the construction of a new school block completed, the school management expects to see a surge of new intakes in the coming year.
Vice Principal Yazameen Khan said the new block would also allow them to better their service delivery.

The new block consists of an administration staffroom, a conference room, a classroom, technical room, a science block, a multipurpose hall and teacher’s quarters.

The Minister for Education, Premila Kumar, while commissioning the new block, said they, as a government, was delighted to build a school for the children of Fiji.
“I must commend our honourable Prime Minister for his dedication to our people,” the minister said. Ms Kumar also urged the school’s board members “not to neglect the infrastructure”, but put in place a proper plan to maintain it.
This year, the college has 22 students in year 13, and two streams of year 12.
The Bau Central College campus project, which is worth around $4.6million, will serve the greater district of Bau, in Tailevu South.
