I think this is the type of vigor and energy that we need from our younger generations and instead of seeking jobs, they can create jobs and make money out of that.

A new gaming and virtual reality centre, called Battlefield Stun, is now open at the Sports City complex.

Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Rosy Akbar yesterday praised the efforts by the entrepreneurs for the innovative business idea.

“This is a great initiative by the two young people despite having a profession of their own to embark upon,” she said.

“I think this is the type of vigor and energy that we need from our younger generations and instead of seeking jobs, they can create jobs and make money out of that.”

She also said this would attract young people and would provide some relaxation and a socialising platform for them.

Owners, Baadal Sharma and Shafika Ahmed, who are lawyers by profession, came up with the gaming centre concept in September and have never looked back.

Ms Ahmed, 25, said the idea of real gaming and virtual reality experience was targeted at young people who were interested in PlayStation Five.

“We open at 9.30am till 9pm and we also can extend the time until 10pm upon request,” she said.

Mr Sharma, 26, said it took less than two months to set up shop.

“This is our initiative and it is funded by both of us,” he said.

“We have worked so hard to set up this place and all I would say is that hard work is the key to success.”
