New Immigration offices planned for Nakasi and Rakiraki
Minister for Immigration Viliame Naupoto told Parliament the Ministry was decentralising immigration services to make them more accessible.

People in Rakiraki and the Nasinu–Nakasi corridor can expect easier access to immigration services as Government plans new offices in both areas.
Minister for Immigration Viliame Naupoto told Parliament the Ministry was decentralising immigration services to make them more accessible.
“Mr. Speaker, Sir, we are decentralising our immigration services. A new Immigration Office will open in Nakasi and has been approved by the relevant authorities.”

He said preparations for the Nakasi office were underway.
“It will undergo an office fitout and we are awaiting new enrolment kits that are being sea freighted with an Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) on 1st April, 2026.”
The new office is expected to reduce congestion at the Suva Immigration Office and improve access for residents in nearby areas.
“This new office will ease congestion in the Suva Office, suddenly reducing travel time for residents in surrounding communities (Suva-Nausori corridor) and bring immigration services closer to the people.”
Communities in Ra Province and surrounding areas are also expected to benefit from a new Immigration Office planned for Rakiraki Town.
Naupoto said officials had already finalised the location for the office.
“We are also finalising the location of a new Immigration Office in Rakiraki Town.”
He said senior officials had travelled to Rakiraki to complete the process.
“My Permanent Secretary (PS) and the PS Civil Service and staff from the Office Accommodation Unit just returned from Rakiraki today to finalise this process.”
The new Rakiraki office will improve access to immigration services for communities in the province and nearby rural areas.
“This move to Rakiraki will greatly improve access to communities in the Ra Province, Tavua, Wainibuka and nearby rural areas.”
Government is also progressing plans to relocate immigration offices in Savusavu and Lautoka.
“We are also progressing plans to relocate the Savusavu and Lautoka Offices.”
Naupoto said the relocations were aimed at improving service delivery and providing better working conditions.
“These relocations aims to improve delivery service and provide a more professional, secure and accommodating workplace for staff and our customers in the North.”
