“Today’s ceremony may be a mere formality to some, but for the people of Nadi and visitors to our shores, it signifies hope that in the not too distant future, a new structure will be erected to house all requirements needed to meet the growing demands of policing,” he said.
“The Government is supportive of the restructure and reform plans for the Fiji Police Force having factored in the growing demands placed on your service.
“The restructure process is long overdue, and this Government has taken heed of your needs to be able to cater for Fiji’s growing population and emerging criminal activities.
“Nadi will soon be declared a city and this will generate more demand for your services and many of Fiji’s major economic drivers are right here in the Western Division.

The estimated construction cost of the new building is more than $19million. Work will start next week.
