Newly appointed Fiji Navy chief, Captain Timoci Natuva, faces the daunting task of restoring the tarnished reputation of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division.
Once recognised for its discipline, professionalism, and excellence, the Fiji Navy has come under scrutiny following the damage of two naval vessels gifted by Australia.
Minister for Defence, Pio Tikoduadua, confirmed yesterday that those under investigation remain on paid leave. "None of them have been convicted yet," he said.

Both incidents occurred under the leadership of Commodore Humphrey Tawake, who now serves as Deputy Commander of the RFMF.
