Communities along the Lami and Navua corridor will soon enjoy a new service station in Namuka-i-Lau, Veisari. The Mobil service station is housed with a couple of other businesses including a supermarket, and a restaurant in the same vicinity.

Taxi driver and resident at Namuka-i-Lau, Salosi Tevita says that the station will save a lot of his time.

“With this, we will save time and money, we won’t be traveling right to Lami just to buy fuel or our groceries,” Mr Tevita said.

Similar sentiment was echoed by Francis Sanita Devi who usually sells her homemade Indian snacks along the roadside of Wailekutu as means to sustain her family.

“I’ve been staying here for nearly 17 years and we usually travel to Lami to buy basic needs,” Ms Devi said.

The single mother-of-two added that it was even worse when natural disasters happen.

“During disaster time, we rush down to Lami or sometimes to the shops nearby to buy kerosene, gas and basic item."

“This new service station will allow us to save money, especially the travelling cost,” she said.

The Joint project between Mobil Fiji and Grace Road Group, will birth new job opportunities for the locals.

Grace road group member, who prefers to be called Ana said that the project would offer many other convenient shopping options for the nearby communities.

“I think more than thirty (30) people will be employed,” she said.
