Amna Bi, 61, had always owned a keypad mobile phone and had little knowledge about smartphones.
Last week Friday, she was surprised by her grandson Taslim Hussain who gifted her a new smartphone.
Ms Bi said she was proud to have a grandson like Taslim Hussein who always took care of her.

She said her grandson told her that it was important to own a smartphone during this COVID-19 period.
“My grandson told me to get a smartphone so that I could install the careFIJI app on the phone which is a compulsory practice during this time,” she said.
Ms Bi said she would now be able to travel to Labasa Town with more confidence and at ease.
“Before I had to bear a lot of difficulty in writing details and answering to the questions asked by the security officers at shop entrances”.
Grandson, Mr Hussain, 22, a former employee of Tri Dees spares limited said he had saved the money to buy the phone.
He said children and youths needed to encourage and teach their elderly members on how to install and use the careFIJI app.
“I request the citizens of this country to take the Government and Ministry of Health and Medical Services directives seriously for their safety,” he added.
